Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that influence lowland rice production and to analyze the differences in the effects of using the Tabela and Tapin planting systems on lowland rice production in Mekar Sari Village, Tongauna District, Konawe Regency. The sampling technique used in this research is snowball sampling, with a total of 65 farmers as respondents, consisting of 40 farmers using the Tabela system and 25 farmers using the Tapin system. The analytical method employed in this study is linear regression analysis in the form of a natural logarithm (Ln). (1) The results show that the cost of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, labor, land area, farming experience, age, and planting system simultaneously have a significant effect on rice production in Mekar Sari Village, Tongauna District, Konawe Regency. Partially, the cost of seeds, the cost of fertilizers, land area, and farming experience have a significant effect on rice production, while the cost of pesticides, labor cost, and farmer’s age do not have a significant effect. (2) The dummy variable (planting system) indicates that there is no significant difference in rice production between farmers who use the Tabela system and those who use the Tapin system in Mekar Sari Village, Tongauna District, Konawe Regency.
