Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of investment, poverty, and information and communication technology (ICT) on income inequality across provinces in Indonesia during the period before and during the covid-19 pandemic (2017–2023). The analytical method used in this study is panel data analysis across 34 Indonesian provinces, using a quantitative approach. The dependent variable is income inequality, measured by the Gini Ratio, while the independent variables include Gross Fixed Capital Formation (GFCF) as an indicator of investment, the poverty rate, and the ICT Development Index (IDI) as an indicator of information and communication technology (ICT). The results show that investment, ICT, and the covid-19 dummy variable have a negative and significant effect on income inequality. In contrast, poverty has a positive and significant effect on income inequality in Indonesia during the 2017–2023 period.
